🇧🇷 O que há de especial no topo daquele morro? Nada além de uma estrada de terra, o mato, o céu com o sol e as nuvens, a vista da cidade grande abaixo, e um lugar vazio e totalmente calmo acima da cidade. É um lugar onde posso relaxar, curtir, contemplar e me conectar com a natureza, a brincar. É uma libertação e um refúgio! É para o tipo de pessoa que gosta de estar ao ar livre, fora da cidade, que gosta de respirar o ar desse tipo de ambiente, e se sente melhor nesse tipo de ambiente. E para mim é também um lugar pra fazer arte!

Portanto para mim esse trabalho é sobre uma sensação, como eu me sinto lá fora. Imagine que eu estou saindo da cidade, dirigindo por cerca de 30 minutos, até chegar à essa estrada de terra super calma. Eu sigo em frente, e no topo do morro eu estaciono meu carro. Está muito tranquilo, silencioso, eu sinto o ambiente, respiro o ar, o sol está no céu, e quando olho pra baixo vejo a cidade grande, tão movimentada e estressante. Eu me sinto muito bem ali fora, sinto vontade de fazer arte, de capturar a sensação que estou tendo naquele lugar. Como capturar essa sensação? Vou tentar. Então começo a fotografar o ambiente por todos os lados, tentando fazer composições interessantes usando aquele mato, o céu e as cercas (algumas pessoas provavelmente diriam que eu estou fotografando coisa nenhuma), e assim faço esse trabalho.

🇺🇲 What’s this top of tha hill about? Nothing but a dirt road, the bush, the sky with the sun and the clouds, the view of the big city below, and an empty and quiet place above the city. It's a place I can relax, enjoy, contemplate and connect to nature, and play. It’s an escape and a refugee! It's for those people who like to be outdoors, outside town, who like to breathe the air of that kind of environment, and feel better in these kind of environments. And for me, it's also a place to make art!

So to me this work is all about a sensation, about how I feel out there. Imagine I'm leaving big town, driving for about 30 minutes, then I get to this really quiet dirt road. I follow it, and on the top of the hill I park my car. It's really quiet, silent, I feel the environment, I breathe that air, the sun is in the sky, and when I look down I can see the big town, which is so busy and stressing. I feel really good out there, I feel like making art, I feel like capturing the sensation I'm getting on that place. How am I going to capture this sensation? I'll try. So I start shooting the environment all around, trying to make interesting compositions out of that bush, that sky and the fences (some people would probably say out of nothing), and I make this work.
