🇧🇷 EquiLibrar usa dois postes rústicos, os cabos fixados à esses postes, as nuvens e o céu como elementos, tentando buscar equilíbrio nas imagens. Algumas vezes deixo à mostra um poste só, outras vezes dois. Um poste é mais grosso, o outro mais fino, como se um representasse o princípio masculino/yang, e o outro o feminino/yin. Além disso, brinco com a profundidade de campo e as perspectivas, algumas vezes deixando o foco somente no cabo e o(s) poste(s) em desfoque, outras vezes focando as nuvens no segundo plano e deixando os postes em desfoque no primeiro plano, algumas vezes deixando um poste em foco e o outro em desfoque, outras ambos em foco, etc.

Esses postes são elementos imponentes, pois são altos, mas o que ressalta a sensação de imponência é a percepção, em algumas fotos, de que os postes estão na altura das ou mais alto que as nuvens. Isso transmite a sensação de elevação, grandeza, imponência, de que estão no céu.  É como se não fossem apenas postes, mas fossem elevados à categoria de monumentos. Monumentos que alcançam o céu. E o céu está cheio de ar.

A palavra EquiLibrar faz referência à dois termos não óbvios, relevantes para esse trabalho: o primeiro é "libra", que é uma balança, que atua pelo princípio do equilíbrio entre dois lados opostos; o segundo são as duas últimas letras da palavra, que formam a palavra "ar", ou seja, uma referência à algo que se equilibra no ar. Portanto EquiLibrar trata de um exercício de equilíbrio que usa o elemento ar (invisível, intangível) como pano de fundo para o equilíbrio entre os dois postes (Yang/masculino e Yin/feminino), como se o ar estivesse mantendo a balança. 

🇺🇸 BalAnce uses two rustic poles, the cables fixed to these poles, the clouds and the sky as elements, trying to create balance in the images. Sometimes I show only one pole, other times two. One pole is thicker, the other thinner, as if one represented the masculine/yang principle, and the other the feminine/yin principle. Besides, I play with depth of field and the perspectives, sometimes leaving only the cable in focus and the pole(s) out of focus, other times focusing the clouds on the background and leaving the poles in the front out of focus, sometimes leaving a pole in focus and the other out of focus, other times both in focus, etc.

These poles are imposing elements, because they're tall, but what highlights the imposing sensation is the perception, in some photos, is that the poles are as high as or higher than the clouds. This conveys the sensation of elevation, grandeur, pomposity, as if they are in the sky. It's as if they're not only poles, but got elevated to the status of monuments. Monuments that reach the sky. And the sky is full of air.

The title word in portuguese, EquiLibrar, makes reference to two not so obvious terms, which are relevant to this work: the first is "libra", that refers to equilibrium between the two opposing sides; the second are the two last letters of the word, which form the word "air", that is translated to air. So, afterall these words convey something that balances in the air. So EquiLibrar is about a libra/scale which uses the element air (invisible, intangible) as a background to keep the balance between the two poles (Yang/masculine and Yin/feminine), as if the air is maintaining the libra/scales.
